Another Another 1999
Bea De Visser with Rudi van Dantzig excerpt: 2"56 min. original duration: 8 minutes, 35 mm Excerpt of the film About putting one foot in front of the other, bisected with scenes of Rudi van Dantzig (choreographer, former dancer and artistic leader of The National Ballet), who at home works on the first steps of choreography. The most magical step in dance is called 'walking' , the magic phenomenon of balance when one places one foot in front of the other. In Another Another we see Rudi van Dantzig at home while working on a choreography. Inserts of the dancer Andrew Kelly in a studio construct the extension in space and in the dance itself. Another Another shows the creative process of dance rather than its theatrical outcome, the resulting ballet. Voice over (the inner voice) by Rudi van Dantzig: "I take pleasure in still having silence in my head. Then everything still seems to be indefinable and not formed. Ideas can still go in all directions, or they seem to be able to do that. One fantasises and one dreams and possibilities seem to be unlimited."
